struggling to eat solids, pls help🥲
hey everyone, so i need some help.
my son turned 1 two weeks ago and since he was 6 months old, he has been a struggle to feed.
at 6 months we slowly introduced baby food. he hated it and it two probably a couple weeks before he started being accepting of purées.
and even then, he was super picky and would only eat sweet potatoes.
around 7.5 months old i tried mashed foods (banana, avo, sweet potato) and he hated it, so back to purées we went.
one day around 9.5 months old he began refusing purées and would only eat whole foods, but was still super picky (only eating like eggs, pancakes, sausage, pasta, green beans).
for the past 2-3 weeks he has been a BEAR to feed. sometimes he eats everything on his plate, but most often he takes 3-4 bites and is over it.. even when i'm offering foods he has previously loved. i still offer 4 6oz bottles of ripple milk per day which he sucks down. i try to offer 3 actual meals plus 2 snacks and water in between meals. i've tried offering food first and then a bottle, a bottle first and then food a little later on, ive tried giving him his favorite foods, new foods, and i just cannot get this kid figured out. (2nd child problems😅)
all this to say- is he just super picky or does it sound like an aversion of some sort? should i contact his PCP for an OT consult? my 1st child ate whatever we put in front of her whenever we put it in front of her, but this 2nd kid has been significantly more challenging.
