I am mother of 2 children 5 & 3 im tryingto leave my abusive mariage how do i leave when i have no job or money is there any tips will they take my children away?. Im scared but i need to.leave all.is.getting worse please help.i live in NJ anyone from . Jersey know.how.this works

Im a former domestic abuse counselor. You can stay in a dv shelter and they will help you with food, employment services, and transitional housing. You need to tell them youre fearful for your safety. If you make it a financial issue you may not qualify. You need to tell.them you feel intimidated and feel a physical threat could escalate (even if it isnt imminent) Children dont get taken away from leaving abuse. Cps may get involved if your kids are very unsafe and you refuse to cooperate with.a court mandated order of protection eg the courts say he must stay away but you refuse to end the relationship and still let him in the house. But not from leaving, being in a shelter, reporting to police, having financial hardship....those are not reasons.
