Spotting for a week and had a late 2 day period

I spotted very lightly for about a week then my period was 2 days late and I only bled my normal amount on the first day and by the end of the second day I was barely bleeding and now it’s suppose to be day 3 of my period but I’m back to only spotting. I did almost throw up earlier this week and then actually threw up yesterday but I tested twice for pregnancy and both times it came back negative. I have been fighting a cold but I’m better now.

I already have two children (21month and 9months old) and both times I got an early positive test and early sicknesses from them. My first child I spotted for the first 8 weeks and my second child it was a week or 2 worth of spotting.

My husband had a vasectomy earlier this month but we haven’t used protection at all and i know sometimes it takes a while for vasectomy’s to be in the clear.

Should I test again in another week or just wait for my next scheduled period I always have regular periods so this was really weird one for me. Or could there be something else wrong?
