Baby is here! Question about pumping

Jennifer • Hopelessly in love with my soulmate, mother of four beautiful kiddos: 💕03/03/08, 💙05/06/10, 👼💙09/28/18 - 06/02/2020, 💙03/27/2022 and current expecting #5 in July

Jovi Davis arrived on 7/5 @ 7lbs 3oz and 21 inches long. It was a planned induction at 39 weeks and everything went very smoothly aside from my epidural not working for the last hour of labor and during pushing 👀 😖 so happy baby #5 (last baby) is here and healthy ❤️

Anyway my question: I am breastfeeding and trying to build a surplus for when I go back to work. I am just about 1.5 weeks postpartum and pumping between 15-20oz per day to freeze. I breastfeed him on demand about every 2-4 hours and usually pump one side and feed the other (I do sometimes skip a couple times pumping during the night). I also try to make sure to pump at least one side if it’s been 3+ hours since he fed or since I pumped alternating which breast I pump each time. For my last 4 kiddos I was staying at home the first 6 months to a year so I didn’t put so much pressure on pumping and saving milk. What amount per day in excess is normal or ideal in addition to breastfeeding?

Thanks for your help!
