Big Baby?

Question

Anyone have any experience with big babies? Apparently bub is in the 96% percentile. Is it possible that his position could have affected these measurements. He was head down, smooshed into my cervix and placenta. I have to go back due to suboptimal views of his face and chamber view. Really don’t want a C-section. 🥲

You don’t need a c section for a big baby. Ultrasound measurements are not very accurate the farther along you are. My son was in the 92nd percentile at 20 weeks & was only 8lbs at birth

Have had 3 babies and the weight/size estimate has been off on all 3. Babies 1 and 2 about 2 full pounds. It is just an estimate and unless they think its like a 12 lb baby or something dont jnow why you'd need a c section anyways. I've been pregnant or trying to conceive for about 8 yrs and had many obs/doctors and none did c sections for size unless absolutely necessary....and that was usually a vaginal delivery turned into a c section. My sister had 2 babies around 10 lbs each vaginally and her ob never once brought up C section. But yes the size scans are often off. My 1st was estimated at like 8.5 lbs took home a baby born at 40+1 that was under 6 lbs and wore preemie sized clothes for 6 weeks. My 2nd was supposedly supposed to be 6 lbs 9 oz and was born 8 lb 5oz. Most women I know have had it off a lb or more either way.

I just had a 96 percentile baby vaginally. My scans was actually spot on with her size estimate. At the last growth scan at at almost 37 weeks she was 7lbs 7oz and the doc said she would gain half a lb to a lb a week. 3 weeks later (born at 39) she was 8lbs 5oz and 22 inches long. 
The measurements on your scan don’t look like baby is measuring extremely big. At my 20 week baby was well over a lb. And measured over 3 weeks ahead.

My first 98th percentile he was 9.1 at 39w 
My second 97th percentile she was 7.4 at 39w
My third she was 98th percentile she was 7.5 at 39w1d
My fourth was 99th percentile she was 7.15 at 36w all C-sections those measurements are just an estimate I wouldn’t jump to a C-section though unless medically needed woman have bigger babies naturally everyday that’s what our bodies are made to do

my first son was estimated to be in the 96th percentile & was measuring 2-3 weeks ahead all through my second & third trimester. He ended up being an average baby (7lb 14oz) when he was born. My second was way over 100% & was estimated to be “40-41 weeks” when I was 21 weeks along. He was 10lbs. Sometimes ultrasounds can be a little off. If you don’t want a c-section, you don’t have to get one unless it’s absolutely medically necessary. A big baby does not mean it’s medically necessary.

Looks like you’re only measuring a week ahead. Same for me and I’m 38 weeks having him vaginally next week.

I measured having a big baby. When he was born at 39 weeks he was 9lb 4oz, he was born by ceserean only because failed inducing after 5 days.
