PCOS & Birth Control?
Hello! I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. My gynecologist is heavily suggesting I go on birth control to help decrease the risk of endometrial cancer. I have an appointment tomorrow for an IUD insertion. I’ve had an IUD before & I remember the pain of the insertion being AWFUL. Not to mention bleeding for a month or so afterwards. I struggle with depression and anxiety. I know that pretty much all forms of birth control can cause anxiety and depression. She says IUDs don’t typically have that side effect, but I’ve seen lot of girls experience it. That really terrifies me. I don’t really want to be on BC but obviously I don’t want to be at an even higher risk for endometrial cancer. I’ve had very bad irregular periods and cramping also. I’m not really sure what to do but my gyno is basically making it seem like birth control will be the only fix. Any advice?
