How do I ask my friend this question?

How would one go about asking a friend to crash at their place when visiting out of town? Obviously I would get a hotel room as a back up, but first out of curiosity to save money, how I could in a way invite myself?? We haven’t seen each other in a few years, but are connected through social media and get along great! Roles in reverse if she were to stop by in my town and randomly ask I’d be more than happy to host her!
