Five year old sneaking food
I'm trying to figure out if this is a normal behavior as our five year old is showing us impulsive issues. He is five and will take food from the kitchen hide it or fastly eat it.
Example would be getting up super early and eating a canister of dry oatmeal. It didn't even taste good.
He will hide fruit or cheese sticks under books.
For us it really doesn't make sense I cook the family three home made meals a day and he's a great eater.
He also has multiple snacks a day. We even have a shelf in the fridge he can have access to snacks he loves whenever he wants. To us as parents it doesn't make sense he never is in trouble for having food. Our issue is that we have pets and don't want them in the food wrappers he has. We've tried explaining this. Or it's hoarding of food. We cannot have anything in arms reach of him. He will also bring chairs and reach high cupboards. This behavior happens a few times a week.
Help me out I just found my son eating a dozen muffins after he just had a giant lunch that he loved.
