I’ve been dating this guy for almost a year, and for the past couple of months, his behavior has changed a bit. A few days ago, he suddenly texted me to say that he wouldn’t be available next week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I found it odd, so I asked him what he meant. He explained that he had dinner appointments with customers in a VIP lounge.

We had talked about this VIP lounge before; it’s a very specific place that requires membership. I was curious about it and asked if we could go together so I could see what it was like. He responded by saying that I could just look up pictures on Google if I wanted to know how it looked and said he didn’t want to take me there, which made me feel really sad.

He’s the CEO of his company and mentioned that he covers these fancy, expensive dinners through company expenses. However, if we want to go out, he says he has to pay with his personal account, which he can’t afford. I found this strange since, as the CEO, he’s ultimately responsible for the company’s spending.

After he told me he wouldn’t take me and suggested I just look online, I told him that his response made me sad and that it didn’t seem like the right thing to say. We hung up, and since then, it’s been three days without any contact from him. I’m feeling really sad and confused, wondering if I overreacted or if something else is going on? :(
