My husband and I are both into video games. He plays his playstation 5 and I play my pc games. We stream online on TikTok while we play our games for others to watch, so I have to be anonymous. I found out my husband has been leaving his mic on during private moments in our lives.

I will try to explain as best as I can for those of you that don’t play video games. So, when you are gaming online, it gives you the ability to use a microphone, which allows you to talk to your friends and/or online group of friends. My husband has friends that he knows in real life, but also friends that he has never met in real life before. He’s able to put all his friends in a voice group chat where they are all able to sit and just talk to each other while playing.

Just going to dive right in and say that I found out my husband was purposely leaving his headset mic on so his friends could listen in on what’s going on and has been doing this for years.

For example, him and I were just hanging out this morning and he was gaming online with friends as usual and I was just scrolling through my phone. Well, we ended up becoming intimate. I watched him put his headset on top of his game like he usually does and we did our deed. Once we were done, I noticed I could still hear his friends talking through the headset. I asked him immediately was his mic still on. He gave me a guilty look and told me yes! I asked him did he forget to turn his mic off. I also expressed how embarrassing that was for me, because I knew his friends heard us doing adult things. He completely shocked me and said that his mic is usually always on. That sitting it down doesn’t mean it’s off. He says that him and his friends never really turn their mics off because they are on and off of the game throughout the day. I said so they have heard us having sex and arguing about private things going on in our marriage. He told me yeah, but that it didn’t matter because he hears his friends business all the time and that they are all just close like that. I think his group of friends consist of like 6 or 7 memebers. He said him and his friends are just really close and that it wasn’t nothing to worry about. But I’m honestly extremely shocked and embarrassed at the fact that so many people know whats going on in my marriage and have heard me moan before. It’s just so weird to me, but he doesn’t think it’s that big of a deal.

Anyone else have a gamer partner that does this? Or is this very weird?
