Honoring grandparents dilemma
How do you go about suggesting your grandparents names to be used for your child’s name without pressuring your husband to feel they have to use it?
Side story:
Sept. 2022 I gave birth to my daughter
Eleanor Louise announced it to my parents who were babysitting my other kids
And a few hours after the celebration my mom let me know that right when my daughter was born my grandpa died.
If I would have known I would have come up with a way to honor him in some way.
Fast forward to present day my grandma (his wife) recently died and I’m finding myself pregnant within the same time frame.
Also I’d like to note that both of my grandparents played a big role in my life. I cherish the time and memories we shared.
Originally if we had a boy we were going to use Arthur Barron
My other late grandpas middle name (my husband picked the name not knowing my other late grandpas middle name, so a coincidence) and Barron is my husbands middle name.
If we had a girl it was possibly going to be Madeline (no middle name that sticks yet)
Now I’m wondering if it would be awkward to ask to name a boy Arthur Barrios
And a girl Beatrice after my grandma.
I don’t want him to feel he has to.
I don’t really think Madeline Beatrice or Beatrice Madeline flow that nicely so I don’t think I’d use it with that name
Also for reference my grandpas name was
Barrios Demetrius Zoe
My grandmas name was Beatrice Marie
If anyone has any other suggestions based off their names feel free!
I also have 3 other kids so wondering if these names would work well?
Lillian Grace
Julian Abram
Eleanor louise
