Making a hard decision...
My daughter is 8 weeks old. I've been trying for all this time to full on breastfeed her... It's honestly taking a huge toll on my mental and physical health because she just doesn't seem to get satisfied on the breast ... And she falls asleep every time she's on the breast. Literally. Within minutes. She's also not growing and gaining weight like they want her to... So over the past few days, I've been pumping a bit and mixing formula in it... Just to make sure she's getting plenty of nutrients. She honestly seems more content that way, tho she often fights the bottle and wants the boob instead. She does also have a palsy to her bottom lip... And seems like she's possibly having seizures. and she does have a heart issue that we think may be playing a part in her lack of growth. Literally, she's gained a pound and grown an inch in 8 weeks. So they're trying to get her in for an MRI and trying to get an echo scheduled for the same day if possible so we don't have to wait til October for it. 🥺 Anyway... Any tips to help me with pumping? Cus most of the time I do good to get more than a couple ounces. I want to try and give breast milk as well as the formula as long as possible... What would be some good supplements to take? Or foods? I know oats. Salmon, too right? Any advice will help at this point.
