Am I teaching my daughter to accept bare minimum from men?
Both my husband and son have really bad ADHD. Cleaning is a nightmare for both of them because they don't have the motivation or will start and then get distracted. My son is 16 and my daughter is 14. My daughter doesn't have ADHD. She just doesn't really want to clean at times which is normal. What I found that works for both my son and husband is they have charm bracelets with chores of them. Whenever they complete a chore they put the bracelet in a jar. They both have their own jars and some days compete with each other to see who gets rid of all their bracelets the fastest. Just father son bonding stuff. My mom thinks it's ridiculous that my husband a grown man and that my son who's almost a grown man have to use something that silly to do anything and that she wouldn't have put up with that with my dad. She doesn't even ask for something to be done. She just expects it to be done. She said this is a lesson to my daughter to take the bare minimum from men. I thought it was a lesson to figure out how to work with your disability. I don't know it was working well so I thought this was a success.
