I called off from work today for the first time. I just couldn’t go.

I got a call from my gynecologist office this morning. I had an appointment with them last week for my annual check up. I have a lump in my breast they want to check every year. And they did a Pap smear.

The front office lady called and said my dr wants to do a Video chat with me to talk about my results. I was immediately freaking out because that has NEVER happened. They usually leave me a voicemail and say that the results came back fine.

I joined the video chat and she told me that I have HPV cells that showed up on my results. And they want to do another test just to make sure that it’s not cancer but by the looks of the results, she said it doesn’t look like it is.

I’m freaking out because one: I’m scared I could have cancer. I’m already worried about my lump in my breast and worried about breast cancer. And now I’m worried about cervical cancer.

Two: I know this is transmitted by sex. So should I tell my boyfriend of 3 years about it ? Does that mean he has it ? Should he be worried ? Will he be upset and think that I got it from someone else and gave it to him?

I have never had health problems my whole life. And now I feel like lately it’s always something. I’m only 28.

I just did not expect this on my 2024 bingo card.

I’ve googled so much about it.

Have any of you had HPV ? How has it changed your life ?? Should I be worried ?
