Can you get fired for requesting time off ?

Can you get fired for requesting time off at work??  
I started a new job this year, in April. 
I had 3 vacations booked for the year with my family and boyfriend. So during my job interview, I asked my manager how many vacations days I got because I had 3 vacations to go on later in the year. 
He said that he wasn’t sure how many vacation days that I got, but he knew that I had some because I was full time. 
After I started working, I realized that they don’t just give you PTO and that you earn hours after every pay period. 
After a few weeks there, I put my requests in for my 3 vacations. 
1 week off in July. 4 days off in September. And 1 week off in October. 
He accepted my week off in July and I went on that vacation. I ended up having enough PTO hours for it. 
He hasn’t accepted my week off in September or October yet. The September one is coming up soon. 
I’m worried that he’s gonna say he can’t approve them. Or let me go on it, but I’ll be in trouble when I get back. 
I’m worried they are gonna be mad for me taking a week off in September and one in October. 
I told my family about it and they are upset because they want me to go on the vacations with them and also I can’t get a refund and I paid thousands of dollars. 
I’m gonna go on my vacations regardless but I really don’t want to lose my job. 
Any advice??

I'll get downvoted but GO ON YOUR VACATIONS!! You ALREADY worked and payed for them, also NOTHING is more important than family and making memories with them. Never put a job before quality time with loved ones. Life can be gone in an instant so make your family a priority.

Manager here, you told them up front in the interview and they still hired you so they should’ve cleared you. And even if you don’t have the PTO you can still go you just won’t be paid for them. If they try to fire you you can definitely go to HR bc you made it known waaaaaay in advance and they’re all already paid for. What A-hole would not approve you for them?

You wouldnt get fired for asking, but you could if they refuse to allow it and you go anyway. You can try to negotiate to take unpaid leave if you dont have enough PTO. Next job, negotiate that stuff within your contract.

In my experience as long as vacations were cleared during the hiring process they let you have the time off, but not necessarily pay you for it if you don’t have the PTO. Now if you didn’t get specifics for those dates cleared by HR, they don’t have to approve them, and if you ultimately don’t come to work you would be subject to whatever disciplinary action would apply. I work in corporate America, in my line of business if your time isn’t approved and you call out without time you would start with a verbal warning, next occurrence is a written, then a final written, then termination. These corrective actions stay on your record for 12 rolling months before falling off.

You can take unpaid days off if you haven’t accrued enough vacation time by the time the vacation comes around. You should probably run far away from any company that would deny this if you already gave them notice when you were hired.

You wont get fired for putting in the request, but you can and will get fired for going anyway when you know you dont have the PTO or approval from management to do it. If your request has not been approved and you do not show up to work then it is a no call-no show. It wasnt pre-approved during your interview, he told you that he didnt know how many days you would have. Speak to your manager about it and see if he is going to approve it or not before just not showing up to work.
