Pregnancy Imposter Syndrome

Does anyone else have imposter syndrome? I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I don't think I've fully processed this. When I go in for my prenatal visits, I see other pregnant women and they look more pregnant than me and so I feel like I don't belong or I'm just pretending. I feel weird buying baby clothes like they're gifts and not for my baby. I haven't bought anything else because maybe I don't realize I actually do need it? Am I the only one?!

Totally normal, I felt like this with my first in particular, but to some degree in all 3 pregnancies. I have also went through periods of almost being embarrassed of being pregnant as though I felt other people thought I shouldn’t be. 😅

Sometimes I only get embarrassed in front of my teenaged step daughters. Now they know for sure me and their dad have sex lmao

I'm terrified of feeling that then. Good luck on your delivery!

I’ve been experiencing this so much! I’m 6 weeks 1 day with my second. I’ll be 38 next week and my daughter will be 17 in Oct. I don’t know if it’s because I’m so much older now or because it’s the second one or so much time has passed but I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around it all. I found out at 3 weeks 4 days and we don’t have our first appt until 9/11. I’m really hoping it’ll all seem more real and I can be excited after the appt.

I felt like that my whole first pregnancy, and even a little bit when my baby was born. Just kept staring at him trying to process it, it almost felt like a dream. I thought it was just me and didn’t speak about it at all until a friend brought it up and I found out lots of women feel this way! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
