What could it be?

My bf was woken up 2 days ago by sharp pain in the middle of his stomach. It didn't go away for 2 hrs so he rushed to the hospital. When he was getting checked, pain went away ON ITS OWN. Doctors still assumed that it was appendicitis. He didn't have any pain since then. Was that just a cramps or could it be appendicitis...? I’m really worried because we are supposed to see each other tomorrow but we are long distance so i’m afraid that something can happen on his way here…
