Hello everyone

I’m so confused I have a very long period this cycle and it’s not the first I been going thru this for some years with my periods . But I started my period this month on the 17th of august . And I am still bleeding heavy . A week before the 17th I had spotting on and off for about a week .not sure what that is all about . The app says I am supposed to ovulate soon and to start testing right now . But I am still bleeding heavy so how do I know when or if I’m ovulating. I have a ovulation test and i am going to take it now .
