Snowshoe clothes tips!!!
I need advice on the clothes I need to pack for snowshoeing. I’ve never been snowshoeing before and I’m completely at a loss
For context: I’m a little heavier and I tend to swear a lot!! Even though I’ve never done snowshoeing, I have been hiking and even when it’s 40°f outside, I end up in a tank top midway through the hike because I get hot and sweaty
Where we are going it will be most likely between 25°f- 35°f
I know you’re supposed to have the first layer be moisture wicking
So question number 1) are my athletic leggings and sports bra good enough for that layer??
For my next layer am i was thinking of wearing some sort of long sleeve shirt maybe??
And then I was planning on wearing a sweater or crewneck and then a jacket as my final layer
I saw a really good tip on a blog that said “be bold, start cold” so I personally feel like for me I might not even start with the jacket and keep it in my backpack but I don’t know!!!!
As far as pants go, would I be fine wearing athletic leggings and then soft shell pants over them? (Water proof of course)
I have hiking boots and the snowshoes and hiking poles etc.— it’s really just the layering of clothes that I’m so lost on because I don’t want to pack too little and be cold but I also don’t want to overdo it and be dying
Is what I wrote the right idea of what I should wear or am I completely off???
I’ve read blogs that say for one of your layers to be wool or whatever it suggests but all I can thing about is 🥵🥵🥵
