I received this journal today and thought there was an interesting article to share..I cropped the more interesting bits but here’s the journal and the article title posted too if anyone wants to read…

I see the term “sex addict” thrown around a lot online and sometimes on this app. I also feel there’s a strong connection made in online discourse between sex addiction and porn. Personally I think anything sexual can become addictive. However this article mentions others such as infidelity, and I also believe this is a major topic online too but due to whatever reason it’s rarely if never spoken about in line with the individual having an addiction. Or at least not what I’ve come across (I’m aware algorithms differ)…

I’m interested in your thoughts on why this might be if it is at all?

What are your thoughts on the article indicating that frequency isn’t a factor? (Something I feel people generally would consider as a factor)

And i suppose just overall opinion on it if you have one.

If you don’t have one on it it’s ok to not say anything because sometimes people tend to comment how much they don’t care about a topic which I mean you can do but like why?

Keep in mind this article, and it seems the journal favours ICD-11 and I’m unaware at this time what the DSM says about it, if at all…I literally just got this article and it’s late here and I had a 💩 day so I’m not super in the mood to go find the full criteria of what the DSM might say. But I will at a later stage, and if anyone has insight on it you’re welcome to share too.
