Birth control? Pregnant?

Okay so I started my birth control about 2-3 weeks ago. My period normally is irregular. Usually every month it gets a couple days later. Well I was supposed to start on the 31st of August. It’s now the 4th of September. The birth control sugar pills don’t start for another week ish. Should I take a test or am I stressing it

No you wouldn't start a "period" until the sugar pills.

Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding between periods) is one of the side effects of birth control, especially when you start. 
If you were not very diligent taking the pills (especially skipping pills), you can get withdrawal bleeding (bleeding because the hormone levels got too low).
Some forms of birth control are more likely to cause breakthrough bleeding, most notably progesterone only pills.
