Job stress on my body
This job is the best I’ve ever had. I really really love what I do. My managers are very nice and I just genuinely love it.
However, we are extremely short staffed and people call out all the time, and they overbook surgeries (I work at a surgery center), I am constantly over working myself. I literally come home and can’t do anything. I can’t function. My back hurts so badly. I eat a huge dinner bc I’m starving from working 11-12 hours and standing all day I can’t even work out. I just hate these conditions. I love the job and it’s really rare to find an environment like that but the physical demand due to staffing issues is really really affecting my body.
A lot of my coworkers have kids so they need to leave early, and that unfortunately makes me the one who has to stay and finish everything out. It’s really hurting me and idk if this is normal to be tired after long shifts, or if I’m genuinely just being overworked. I do have a day off a week, so I work 4 ten hour shifts, but the first three are usually 11-12 hours and the fourth will be shorter. It’s a great schedule bc I have a day off but jesus it’s really wearing my body down.
