First time taking pill
So I just got prescribed the combination pill which I haven’t started taking yet, and my GP said I have to take the pill for a full week on any day of my cycle before I’m protected, or I can take it on my period and be instantly protected. She also said not to skip my first few periods to allow my body to adjust.
Anyways, my boyfriend (who lives an hour away) is coming over on the 26th Sept and I really want to have sex for the first time, and I obviously want to be protected. However, my period is due 3 days before, which I’m really upset about because we’re long distance and will probably have to wait another month to have sex.
So I was thinking, I want to wait to start taking the pill so I can time it so I’ll be protected when he’s over and not be up to the sugar pills yet which is when I’m supposed to get my period? So when he’s over, if i’m still taking the birth control pill, my period will be delayed?
Is this okay though? Does it count as “skipping” a period which my doctor advised against?Because I’ll still get it eventually when I reach the sugar pills. And will it even stop my period?
Sorry if this made absolutely no sense. I’ll answer any clarifying questions
