AITA - Lack of Financial Support
I don’t know what is right or wrong here.
My husband and I have been together for years and never had issues with the bills until almost two years ago. He got fired from a job and I picked up the slack. It feels as if he got very comfortable with not having to worry about the bills.
He ended up getting a new job about a year and a half ago. Great right? No, see this job barely pays $600 worth of bills monthly. I have expressed to him that I need help and feel strained with the bills! There is no reason i should be paying 98% of the bills when there are two of us here.
Every single time I try to have this conversation it’s, “Hard for a felon to get a job” or “Working at fast food is a teenager/young person job” . I wish he would set aside his pride to go work at some restaurant until we get back on our feet, properly.
At this point i have resulted to putting rent on credit cards and racking up debt. I’m about to tell him, if he can’t get a second job then he needs to leave the house. This paying all the bills is insanity and I’m tired of stressing trying to make ends meet.
