What’s with the down votes?

I’m confused why people downvote a post rather than replying. I posted pictures of a test asking to confirm it was negative (I had an invalid/faulty so retested). And while people didn’t comment yes or no they downvoted. Is that just people’s way of saying negative? If not why don’t you just keep scrolling?…

I down vote when the tests are blatantly negative, invalid or the post is straight up absurd.

Completely agree. Especially on posts where people have asked for advice/opinions. Just seems rude to me, doesn’t take long to leave a comment 😕

If its a yes/no post and no poll I up/down vote depending. If it's asking for advice or exoeriences I comment. I do agree with the person who said they don't want notifications all day, though I just don't comment if that's my mood for the day.
