Self medicating? Please help!
Hello everyone,
I really need some people to talk to, I will try to keep it short...
I've had a son in 2018, then 4 miscarriages, a daughter in 2022 and then again a miscarriage and we decided to stop right there.
With the pregnancy of my daughter I've been using progesterone and low dose aspirin for the first few weeks. With my miscarriages I did not, it was a last resort to try.
Last pregnancy I didn't use the meds and I am really sorry that I didn't, because who knows if it would've been different if I did.
My partner decided he was done with all the trouble after that, so it would've been our last chance.
Last Monday I took a test because we had one mess up with protection, and well, I did see a very very faint line, I called my partner, crying, he told me we should fight for it, so I immediately called the Dr and asked for progesterone and started taking low dose aspirin.
Next day I tested again and the line was about the same, so I tested again on Wednesday and I could almost not see anything.... I really panicked, and the doctor didn't have an answer for meds, I knew I had some left over meds in the medicine box, so I got the utrogestan (progesterone) I had left and inserted a capsule, even though it's 2 months after it's date.
But I've read most medicine is just a bit less working, but not "gone bad" after it's date. So I think it's not a risk...
We are now three days further and the tests have been going up, today I think I can call it a BFP!
But I'm not sure if it's because of the meds or despite of the meds...
The doctor has told me they indeed advice me to use progesterone again, but, only after a consultant, so I have to wait till I get an appointment....
Should I keep taking the meds until I've had my appointment and got new ones? Or should I stop? 😅
I just feel like it's really necessary and the Dr's are taking way to long 🥺
