Ovulation test confusion

I’ve only done three days in a row so far and it already seems like the line is getting lighter in day three (today) than it was yesterday. And even on day two, it doesn’t look “as dark or darker” than the control line like it says it will get in the instructions. Did I miss it? Anyone who’s used ovulation tests have any suggestions or advice?
