Hot flashes during PMS, is this normal?
I’ve had these hot flashes happening for a few months now. For context, I’m 25 and these hot flashes occur a few days before my period, around the same time that I start to have mild, intermittent cramps. It’s like I will just be doing my stuff and then all of a sudden, there’s this rush of heat through my body and up to my face and I’ll suddenly be feeling hot and sweaty for a few minutes or more. I never really experienced these hot flashes in my teen years or my early 20s (though I did experience the cramps, which the hot flashes line up with time-wise). Whenever I search for "why do I have hot flashes", the top result that comes up is menopause. But I don’t think I’m going through that, I’m pretty young, my periods are regular still and always have been, my mom went through menopause at a normal age, I have no real reason to be concerned about prematurely going through menopause.
So I’m wondering, are these hot flashes a normal symptom to experience during PMS? I mean, I do see PMS mentioned in some sources as a cause of hot flashes, but that’s generally listed like after menopause and other causes if it’s listed at all, which makes me think that it’s a pretty uncommon PMS symptom?
