Going out to bar with friends for a 21st birthday and I know the group will get suspicious if I don't drink at all

If you have to drink for them to like you they are not your true friends and I would not be forcing myself to do negative things to hang out with them..or faking anything

Ask the bartender for soda in a glass eg sprite with grenadine. Or just say you have really bad acid reflux and alcohol makes it worse.

My friend and I were supposed to go out for dinner and drinks and that morning she got a positive pregnancy test. She got to the restaurant first and talked to the bartender. Told her what was going on and said, basically, "I'll order a vodka soda but only put soda in it"

Just don’t drink if you don’t want to. Nobody’s business on a reason. If you don’t want to lie or fess up, maybe just don’t go 🤷🏼‍♀️. Or unpopular opinion, have just one. Me personally, I wouldn’t but my sister did want to celebrate her 21st and I went out with her and she ordered 1 drink and maybe had half and we left. She just wanted her first legal drink to be her own and I wasn’t going to judge her on ONE drink. You do you but I wouldn’t want to fake drink with people actually drinking.

Def go with the soda idea. I have offered to go order for everyone so nobody notices lol. You can also get the alcoholic drink, dump it in the bathroom or something, and order another non alcoholic drink.
