Do I bring anything to meet my boyfriend's kid?

I've been seeing my boyfriend almost 6 months. He has one kid who has been living with him the last year because his mom died. His step dad killed her during a DV situation in front of him. My boyfriend said he's just worried I will judge him as a parent because he may come off like he's babying is 14 year old but that he just sometimes can be difficult and he's trying to use a gentle parenting approach and recommended by his child's therapist. And that he can act really immature and has a hard time bonding with people. I was wondering if I should bring him a gift to help us bond or will that be too weird?

I wouldn’t go crazy. But maybe grab a snack or drink you know he likes. My dad’s one girlfriend used to bring a Dunkin coffee for me when she came over and I was there. I always thought it was nice and thoughtful. But I wouldn’t bring a big expensive gift.

yes this is a situation where you definitely ask your bf. his last step parent ruined his life. i would check what his kid may like or if it may overwhelm him etc. given the sensitivity.
