OK, so I’m on birth control and I’m pretty good at taking it but occasionally will take it a few hours late but usually it’s about on time. I am on birth control because of having bad periods so I skip the placebo pills and go straight to the next pack to avoid getting my period. My bf came in me two days after starting my fresh pack. I know nobody can say but do you guys think I have a high chance of pregnancy? I’m not really sure how ovulation or protection works when you go straight to the next pack so I’m stressing out.

You shouldn’t ovulate on the pill, that’s one of the main ways it prevents pregnancy. There is no time in your pack that pregnancy risk is higher, including the placebo week or skipping it. It all depends on you taking your pills correctly and avoiding anything that may interact with it (certain medications, vomiting, diarrhea, St John’s Wort, etc…) to keep it as effective as it can be. Maybe use a backup method to be extra safe if that eases your anxiety.

Wrong, the pill prevents ovulation. That’s what I mentioned in the original comment. You don’t get a normal period. The “period” you get is actually called a withdrawal bleed. The withdrawal bleed is caused from a drop in hormones from taking placebos (not enough of a drop to trigger ovulation) but enough to bleed. You don’t ovulate on the pill unless you take them incorrectly like missing pills for example or it just fails on its own since no birth control is 100% effective (pills are 95-99% effective if taken properly).

Yes but when you ovulate you get your period? So since I didn’t get my period when I went to next pack this implies that the first pack worked and I didn’t ovulate. Does that make sense? Or am I wrong about that lol

I don’t think you’re really understanding still, it doesn’t matter if you skipped or not. That has no impact on effectiveness. You’re still protected on the placebo week if all prior pills are taken on time and still protected if you skip them. What impacts your effectiveness is missing them or having something that interacts with them like I said above.
