I had my daughter 10 days ago. She’s been exclusively breastfed. I’m afraid she may have an allergy of some kind, and want the input of anyone that may have experienced this. She’s pooping a ton, upwards of 8 times a day. When she does poop, she’s straining like crazy. Her poop looks normal as far as color and consistency, and we haven’t seen any blood. But she’s incredibly fussy and in clear distress most of her waking hours. I’ve given her gripe water a couple of times, and each time she settles in and finally falls asleep. Without it, she’ll sleep for 5-10 minute spurts and then wake up screaming again. I don’t know if this is just an immature digestive system or allergy. I’ve decided to cut dairy from my diet in case she has a milk allergy. But if anyone has experienced something similar and found a solution, I’d love any and all input.
