I (F24) feel bad about my bf (M26) initiating sex but I am in pain. How do I stop feeling guilty?

My boyfriend and I were together for the last 3 nights and we didn’t have sex at all. I am in pain (I have a bladder infection) and I got a root canal yesterday. I was just in so much pain and discomfort, I couldn’t do much. My bf understands this, but we’ve had talks before of how he doesn’t initiate sometimes because he doesn’t like getting rejected and it made me kinda feel bad. How do I stop feeling guilty?

I’m confused. So he stopped when you said no but you are upset he didn’t try harder? Once you say no isn’t he supposed to stop? Why are the internet trolls telling you to dump him when it sounds like he respected you when you were in pain and didn’t ask again? That’s pretty messed up of YOU for wanting him to try again when he knows you’re in pain. You feel guilty for saying no because you really wanted it? If you haven’t told him you are fine, why would he try again so soon? He seems to be doing the right thing here.

Honestly I would tell him to look into therapy. Tell him it isn’t fair for you to walk around his triggers and he needs to work on fixing them with the help of a professional because you don’t have the tools to do that. I would also remind him that you are not rejecting him., just the act at the moment. Don’t be rude about it when you talk to him but I was the same way and I needed a therapist help.
