Am I overreacting?

My husband just hit 40 back in July and I feel like he's going through a midlife crisis. There are some neighborhood boys who skateboard. I work as a lunch lady at the middle school so I've seen them there. These kids are like 7th and 8th graders. My husband has recently been trying to be friends with them and I feel like it looks creepy and is coming off as creepy. I watched him through the window go up to these kids to talk to them and ask to ride their skateboards to show them some moves and they all just stare at him and it's so embarrassing. He brings them snacks and you can tell these kids find it weird because they never thank him or say anything to him. Just stare at him. My husband is trying so hard to be friends with teenagers and I told him some of these parents may interpret this as grooming and he says I'm "jealous" because he knows how to still live a young life. He most recently INVITED THESE KIDS INTO OUR HOME! They didn't come again because again he's some random 40 year old man. I'm scared people are going to start thinking my husband is a creep. My husband said I'm overreacting and he's just trying to be the older friend. They don't wanna be your friend!
