Red or green flag

I have never really dated. I'm 20 and spent a lot of my life in and out of foster care. So I had other things to worry about besides dating. I met this guy online and we had a coffee date. We were supposed to have a real date today and go skating but he messaged me saying he's really sorry. He just has 10 homework assignments due this week and he's overwhelmed and asking if we could reschedule because all the work this week is overwhelming him and he needs to take a mental health day today to get any type of rest. My biological mom said red flag and he probably has a girlfriend or something. My foster mom says green flag because a man being open about his mental health and when he's overwhelmed instead of just getting angry is a great sign. Idek anything about dating so ....
