Any advice is appreciated

I was diagnosed 2 years ago with pcos. I’ve been with the same man for over 18 years. Our sex life was pretty good. Recently we’ve both lost weight and I got the coil fitted to stop with irregular bleeding. Since then having sex in certain positions hurts, I’m not blaming the coil btw I don’t know what’s causing it but when he goes deep it hurts so badly. My doctor is brushing me off saying it happens to most women at some point in their life but surely if it was his size it should’ve happened before this. It’s really getting me down. I have tried to get my coil removed but the strings have disappeared and I’m waiting for a referral to get it removed with a scope. Any ideas what could be causing it?
