Gestational diabetes 1 or 2 hours?

I just got diagnosed with gestational diabetes my first appointment isn’t until another week & half. My dad is a diabetic so I know how to keep my numbers down and what they should be but I’m not sure how often I should be checking my sugar. The doctor told me 4x a day when I wake up and then after each meal but how long do I wait? 1 or 2 hours?

You can do 1 or 2 hours. There’s different goals for both. Sometimes your doctor will have a preference. Just write down how long after the reading was so you can track

Going thru this right now, i was checking one hour after every meal. But also maybe ask for the dexcom, more accurate reading and constantly checking your blood sugar
