What's your relationship to your own given name?

My name is Brittney. I’ve always hated it. I’m Dominican- my mother doesn’t even speak English, so I feel like Brittney is the furthest thing from a culturally significant name and I have no idea why she chose it. Americans told me my name was too common- a lot of Britney Spears jokes even now at 23 but Dominicans tell me that it’s such a weird name. Now typing this out I sure hope my daughter grows to love her name 😅

Mine is kimberly anne. Pretty common but i think its pretty. My daughters are violette eve and melody mae and jamie estelle. I worry about how jamie will feel about her older middle name but i think theyll all appreciate the names they have when they are adults

My name is Mercedes and as a kid I hated it because everyone would call me every other car name besides my own name as a joke and adults would butcher how to say it. Now that I'm an adult my name doesn't bother me because no one really does that now except they still butcher it or ask me how to spell it.... My response is always "it's spelled and pronounced just like the car"

I wouldn’t say I just love my name, but I do love the fact that my name is spelled differently than most Bailey’s. My name is fairly common but I at least have a more uncommon spelling to make it unique

My name is Cayley. Always loved it! It is a great match, it’s me 1000%. And I love that we are not that common! Of course the biggest thing is when one meets another is “how do you spell yours?” Lol we are all different!
