What is it like stopping birth control pill

Question

Have any of you ladies stopped taking the birth control pill after using it for a long time ?? 
What was your reason for stopping? 
What was it like getting off of it ??

I was on the combined pill for 2 years, I stopped it myself after noticing my Blood pressure was extremely high (I work in healthcare so got people to check it for me) and my mental health had deteriorated drastically whilst on it, I would be more bloated than usual and I gained lots of weight whilst on the pill.
When I stopped the pill the first thing I noticed was I felt calmer and the bloating reduced, I felt happier and had less mood swings, it took 4 months before I got a period. The best decision I ever made stopping the pill!

Answer

I was on the combination pill for 5 years. My Obgyn took me off of it due to me developing high blood pressure at that time (I no longer have it since changing my eating habits & losing weight). When I stopped taking the pills, I did experience some side effects, including headaches, backaches, cramps, and no periods for several months (by that time I had gotten on another birth control method, the arm implant).
