Advice after breakup?
Hi! Figured I’d post here since it seems like there’s lots of good advice going around. This past Sunday, my boyfriend of almost 4 years left me. He said he’s been miserable for a long time and I “make being anxious and sad my disposition.” For context, I was in a job I was unhappy with for the past year and left in October. A couple of weeks ago my grandfather passed away which has been hard on me. We’ve been together since the very end of college, live together, and have a cat. He’s never said anything about being unhappy - we argue and are different, and truthfully I know we wouldn’t work long term, but I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around everything. We’ve talked once or twice this week to sort out the apartment, but I’m still struggling mentally. This is the first heartbreak that’s really, really affected me and I’m having a hard time separating the person I know loves me from this person. There’s so much more I could cover but I guess that’s mostly what’s been going on.
I know this may be a silly thing to write in about, but does anyone have any advice for dealing with heartbreak when you still love the person? Kind of just looking for ways to lift my spirits 😞
