how long between pregnancy’s?

my son will be 1 in february, me and my partner was planning on trying to give him a sibling just after christmas. i read months ago it takes your body 12 months to completely recover from birth, and now it’s 4am i’ve decided to google the recommended gap before getting pregnant again, most say 18 months to reduce complications..? with my son i had the kiwi cup since our hearts were dropping and he was stuck aswell as an episiotomy and i lost over a letre of blood. do you think i should wait or just go for it? i really wanted to have them closeish together so they’d have a good bond since my partner was conceived when his brother was 3m old and they have an amazing bond like friends to say they’re brothers and i wanted that for my son aswell. and i feel like since im use to waking up and taking care of my current son it wouldn’t make too much of a difference to have to be waking up for a newborn again.

does anyone have a similar situation? should i wait longer? i was going to book a removal of my birth control this week or next.

ACOG recommends waiting at least 18 months from birth to conception, but the risks actually go down further after 24 months. So your body isn’t even quite “fully” healed, but the risks have dropped enough that it’s considered a reasonable recommendation.

I'd wait to be safe but if your ob says it is fine then thats what you should go with so I'd suggest talking to your ob and see what they say. My sister was told wait 2 years and had to do pelvic floor therapy before she was told it would be safe to have another baby after her 1st so it can vary by yoir specific circumstances. And.as far as a bond I have 4 siblings biggest gap is 5 yrs smallest is technically 5 months as she was a foster that was adopted my siblings have always been my best friends from my earliest memories. Age didn't matter and my brother 5 yrs older than me had just a good a bon with me as my younger sister who was 7 yrs younger than him. We still text weekly if not more and they are my best friends ride or die humans in this world. No matter the age gap your kids will bond. And 1 or 2 years won't matter friendship wise. But will also give some independence. My husband has 3 siblings and his older sister was 18 months older and.his younger brother was 20 months younger. It hurt their relationship as sports wise they ended up on the same teams and some.of the same classes so were pitted against each other athletically and academically. They had friend cross over so when drama happened it was weird when bros friend tried to date his friend or whatever. So there are pros and cons to having close age siblings.

Absolutely wait the 18m if not longer from birth to conception. Your body needs that time to heal. Your kids will still bond no matter the age gap. No reason what so ever to have close in age. That’s just more dangerous for you and unborn baby.
