Pregnancy test confusion

We have been trying for so many months to get pregnant. I haven’t missed my period yet, and keep telling myself to stop taking preganncy tests- but I can’t stop. I am 10 DPO. I took a test this afternoon and it was imediately negative. Had to go take care of my toddler, so left it in my bathroom and went on with my day. When I looked back hours later, I noticed a faint line. The faint line is definitely there, but if it shows up after time has passed is it accurate? I’m hoping so much that it is, but don’t want to hold onto false hope.
