What do you do if you’re not on birth control??

Question

I want to stop taking my birth control pill. I’ve been on it for 7 years. I’ve never had a problem with it. But I’m starting to have some health issues and I have a gut feeling that I should get off the pill. 
My bf isn’t too happy about it because he’s worried about me getting pregnant. I am too cause we don’t want to have a child yet. 
I told him we should use condoms but he doesn’t like the idea. 
Any of you ladies in a relationship and not on birth control?  Do you use condoms ? Pull out method? Or anything else ?? 
I will consider another form of birth control but I really don’t want the IUD.

If you don't want to have a child, he either needs to wear a condom or you both stay abstinent.

You need to use protection. Either use condoms all the time, get on non hormonal birth control, do both, or stop having sex. Family planning is not effective.

If you really don’t want to get pregnant, I suggest using condoms at least. Try a variety of them. We use Skyns and neither of us can really tell it’s there. If you want to use a barrier method like condoms then I believe it’s a small “sacrifice” on his end versus you taking hormonal birth control that’s possibly interfering with your health. It’s a lot easier to use a more effective method than deal with an unplanned pregnancy. Pull out and the fertility awareness method are some of the least effective methods, regardless of what other people’s experiences are with it. 
If you decide to continue hormonal BC, then maybe talk to your gynecologist about a better fit for you and your body.

I would say get involved with a fertility awareness educator in your area, or online! The beauty of the internet (am I right?)! They can help to educate both you and your boyfriend about a natural BC method. I think it’s very important to be on the same page about BC, and I think it’s worth reaching out for some professional advice on how to find the best fit for you and your relationship. Fertility awareness is just one benefit including having more understanding of your cycle and what your body was made to do naturally.

There are methods of Natural Family Planning. Their efficacy with typical use is about 89 percent. They require constant awareness and diligence. It can be paired with condoms until after ovulation is confirmed, if that makes you feel better.
