I have a question that's mainly for someone else but if a father has a 16 year old son. 16 year old son tells his father he's depressed and has been suicidal for a while. Father takes son to the garage and gives him his gun and loads the bullets into it and says the words "Here. Either go through with it or stop bitching." And leaves. Would you consider that "Oh it's just a father showing his son some tough love." Or that's abusive AF.

Update: Thank you guys. This story is what happened with my son and my husband. I ended a 23 year long marriage 2 weeks ago and have had so many people tell me that I shouldn't divorce him and he was just showing my son tough love. Also telling me that I'm taking a child away from their father and that I need to preserve my marriage. When you tell my child to kill themselves you're dead to me. So many people in my life have tried to convince me to change my mind and I have cut several people off and filed for divorce last week. My daughter had to come home to find her brother holding a gun towards him trying to decide to pull the trigger or not. He is in a pediatric mental health hospital at the moment. We got to see him for visitation at Christmas.
