Cat keeps jumping on counters
Sorry if it’s not the right group I just need help!
My kitten is only 5 months old and I’m trying to train him to not jump on the countertops. Ive tried getting his toy so I can direct him to something more positive, doesn’t work, I’ve tried aluminum foil, he literally does not care and will still go on the counters, I’ve tried spray bottles and he will get off when I spray him but then immediately jump back up. I’ve even bought an air puff machine thing on amazon that has a motion sensor so when he goes near it, it’ll puff out a little air. HE LIKES IT. He plays with it and will try to paw the air! The last thing I’ve tried are these plastic spikes mats that aren’t SUPER spiked but enough to where it should be uncomfortable for him to walk on. He literally does not care and will walk all over them.
I’m at the end of my wits… I don’t know what else to do. Everyone I know says aluminum foil but I can’t stress enough that he literally does not get scared or startled by it. He will walk all over it and sometimes lay down on it.
Do I have the most fearless cat or what??
Any help would be great!!!
Edit: yes he has 2 cat towers. One is 5ft the other is 6ft. One is in my room and the other in the living room. The counters that’s he’s he primarily jumps on are in those 2 rooms and the cat towers are definitely the tallest thing in those rooms.
