Weird first period day?

This may be tmi but this is a little wierd for me! Period due yesterday got it today but usually My first day is full of killer cramps that no medication can help and a full flow like crazy. Ive had slight cramping all week except for the past two days and my temp dropped so I was prepared for af arrival but no cramps today or at least barely noticeable! And i am only passing really dark clots. Clots are normal but with the flow not just clots. I havent even stained a pad. Sorry tmi. Anyone experience this? I called doctor waiting for a call back
