Helpless and tired

My baby turns 6 weeks in a couple of days. She’s been fussy so much every time I put her down, and even when I’m holding her sometimes she grunts like she has stomach pains. I know it can be gas pains and I’ve been giving her some gas drops that the pediatrician has prescribed but it doesn’t seem to help as much. I’ve been holding her on my chest and that’s the only way she is calm and is able to sleep. Is that normal? How can I help her? Or does it go away on its own? Is it okay for her to be sleeping on my chest all day and night if that’s the only way that she’s comfortable ?
