I was 160 when I got pregnant, 184 was my last weight of pregnancy and now I’m at 158. My newborn has her days and nights mixed up so I’m up late at night and take lots of mini naps all day. I don’t even eat anything until dinner time which can be between 5-8 pm and then I’m done for the day I don’t eat anything else.. it’s hard for me to lose weight and if I do I’m nervous to gain it all back because I don’t eat right now, and I don’t want to get back into my regular routine and then start eating normally and gain it all back. I’m not active, I breastfeed here and there maybe 2x a day and I eat like crap. My goal is to get to my pre baby weight the first time I got pregnant which was 118. I have a long way to go but I just find it hard to do anything right now and I’m not feeling too positive on weight loss. I guess I have no motivation. And it’s very hard be consistent and break bad habits and start good ones.. any kind of advice would be helpful and maybe some positive energy 😌

If you know you eat like crap then turn it around and just start eating better. Gotta be a mindset. Starving never works and only makes you feel bad, eventually will make you moody and unstable emotionally. Gotta do better for yourself so you can be top notch for the babe. Don’t worry so much girly it’s all part of motherhood… being healthy is more important than loosing weight.

You’re starving yourself and talking about a specific weight goal that sounds like a high school weight- this sounds disordered and low you need to speak to someone.

If you’re not eating, you’re putting your body into starvation mode so than anything you do eat will turn into fat to store in your body because your body is scared It won’t get enough nutrients. (if it’s not doing it now, it’ll definitely be storing a lot of food when you start eating normal again) Try your best to incorporate a few extra at least snacks a day make them large snacks. (Like a bowl of oatmeal, cereal, soup, rice, beans, stew. I know you can find all of these things at most stores and quick microwavable options or can options) The thing that got me to go from almost 200 pounds to 116 pounds I’m also under 5 feet tall was eating enough for my body cause I was eating like under 1000 cal a day in high school and I gained a lot of weight doing that because I would binge at least once a week.(everything I binged pretty much turned into fat on my body) I’m terrified of getting the weight back, but be prepared to fluctuate. You’re a woman you had babies and you recently just had one of them. I fluctuate probably like almost 30 pounds every couple of months when it gets a little warmer take your baby out on walks. Just try to move a little bit more and try to make sure you’re at least getting close to 2000 cal a day. ♥️

Please don’t think I’m trying to be mean saying this. I’m just trying to help you because the longer you start yourself the harder it is to get your metabolism back up cause your metabolism is going to decrease the less you eat. And I’ve been through it. I had disordered eating for like eight years. I didn’t get to my go away until I changed my lifestyle for the better and I stopped that disorder eating.

Under eating is not a sustainable way to loose weight, you need to fix your relationship with food and your body. You probably have a lot to learn but you’ve got this. To start with you absolutely need protein (and fats and carbs too but let’s start with prioritizing protein), the only way to sustain fat loss is to get your metabolism fired up and to do that you need to build muscle which is something you need protein for. Start by adding something that’s simple and accessible to you! Eat the same one meal a day you have been and slowly add other smart choices like a chicken breast, or cold cut sandwich meat, or eggs, ground meat. A protein powder/shake if you don’t like to cook, or high protein yogurt, or cottage cheese. Everything I listed is a low calorie high protein addition to your diet and there are many more options out there too. Then you’ll gain energy to move your body so start doing exercises that you can do without hurting yourself. Maybe donkey kicks and dead bugs (they’re a gentle and effective place to start) or squats or lunges or lateral raises or find a YouTuber to follow along with (Madfit has lots of options and is pretty easy to follow along)But you need to eat protein to build up your muscles and you need to contract (use) your muscles as well, you’ll start to feel great so fast. Good luck - you’ve got this!! And a little bit is always better than nothing (a little bit of protein and a little bit of movement)
