When did you tell your oldest?

13 weeks pregnant with baby #2. We haven’t told anyone yet & I keep changing my mind on when to tell my 4 year old. 
When & how did you tell your oldest and how did it go? Did you tell them first or tell others first?

Answer

We told our daughter (12) and son (9) after heartbeat was confirmed at 7 weeks. I ended up miscarrying around 10 weeks, but it was important that our children were in the loop and knew why we were so sad and why I had to go in for surgery. Our children have the habit of asking for more siblings, so it was a good opportunity to show them that it's not always easy and straightforward expanding a family. We have no regrets telling then early.

We told our kids (7 and 4) the day we found out we were having twins which was 9 weeks. We told them before anyone else, they we called everyone else on FaceTime and let them tell everyone else. I wouldn’t say I regret telling them earlier, but I’m tired of hearing ‘are they here yet?!’ lol if you don’t mind that, I don’t think there’s a ‘too early’

Answer

I’m waiting as long as possible. I feel like waiting for a baby will feel like an eternity to my little one. We’ve also had losses and I just don’t want to share the news yet. I was thinking maybe Easter. I’ll be around 18 weeks.
