I’m 21 I want to become a nurse but don’t have qualifications for university 🇬🇧

I feel like I’ll never become a nurse all my friends are on nursing courses at university. I’m still at college doing functional skills and I’m 21 my mom said focus on you maths and English and figure what I have to do after.

I tried to apply to universities for nursing in mental health but they declined because functional skills level 2 but on the university website it says most universities accept functional skills level 2 qualifications in the uk.The university said I should complete an access to nursing he diploma.

All I want is to be a nurse

I have autism as-well she also said I need to work on my communication skills.

My mom is a nurse that’s what motivated me to want to do nursing.

I’m thinking of maybe doing a nursing associate apprenticeship after college they said level 2 is accepted or get a job as a health care assistant apparently it can help people get into university having a job in a health care aswell.
